Unexpected Sandra by tonal815

Just another short, abandoned scenario that ends too soon. Sandra finds the remote in the living room and accidentally use the "Astral Projection" function that lets her become a ghost and possess other people.

In one route she wanders around and ends up possession either Tori or Vanessa, if it is Tori, she talks with Vanessa and tells her the truth (for some reason), and asks her to go and see her in school time so she can believe her so they can both figure out the remote. You end up asking yourself, why Vanessa? Why not John? Why a kid she barely knows? Well, it finished in 10 minutes, so who cares.

The other route proposes an interesting idea, Sandra sees Holly enter a home by the kitchen and she sees her enter again through the living room, which makes her wonder why there are two Hollys and if there is someone impersonating her. It would be interesting to find out the identity of someone who might have used the remote, but the execution is just dumb. Why would the remote be there? If it was John, why would he leave it? Why was he, Holly? Why doesn't Sandra use the remote to transform them back? Why doesn't she confront that person since time might be at stake?

Logic is a bit loose like many scenarios, and overall it just doesn't have any substantial content. Some possession fans might, maybe, probably, would like, a glimpse of the possession content here, but for most of the people I can say you can totally skip it, it just has an introduction and it is abandoned.

Did you want a bigger review? Well, that's all there is, just 10 minutes of gameplay, and none of the ideas it proposes stand out, so, that's it, nothing else to say here, the review is over.

Memswap v5 by Gunzil the Lucky Squid

From the arsenal of the whole Student Transfer catalog, it comes to this little gem called Memswap. An intense ride of Personality Change that doesn't let you breathe at any moment!

Everything starts when Sandra tells John about her workday and how she would like to have a break from all her duties. What do you think John does? Mind control her boss and other people at school so she can get vacations? No, because that doesn't get us that route, what John does is... swap with his own mom!

To help act like each other and fill it, as well "live the whole experience" John and Sandra start to... copy each other's memories? No, because that would not give us this awesome route, they... start to swap each other's memories completely! This is what starts this ride of madness all over it in a downward spiral that doesn't seem to end!

Memswap is just restless, it starts with such a simple idea, taking some memories to fill up for someone else, and then it just goes on and on and on! Everything goes well in Memswap, there is no apparent conflict in this route, John and Sandra swap their memories and you just wonder every time when is something going to go wrong, but then nothing goes wrong and the tension just increases throughout the whole story because you always think that something is going to go wrong in one moment! Something!

But the fact that it has no conflict is also another point in its favor, it does not focus on the suffering of the characters like other routes or in Drama, everything is fun, but just apparent fun when you are still seeing the madness develop underneath it! The more and more John swaps memories with his mom the more the roles get reversed, every time their relationship shifts more! John gains more control as his own mother and Sandra becomes more and more obedient to her new son-mother! Sandra loses authority as a parent and the more memories she gets from John the more she starts to act like the boy she was raising.

Every single shift in perspective is shown, John doesn't like how Sandra makes him look, but after a memory shift, is John who likes it and tells her to keep it! The change in opinions and ideas and how they make them act! The characters do not seem to notice it and when they try to act like their former selves you can see they already have mannerisms and vocabulary of each other already within them, even having their old bodies their former proprioception seems to stay!

Memswap is technical and detailed, if John is trying to recall an old memory from his perspective, he ends up realizing the shift in perspective happening if an event involves her Mom, thanks to the remote, each other's brains act like computers and swap saves memories like files in a computer, thinking and see the insane implications is intense!

Having a mother that remembers playing video games all her life as a son, remembering having your own birth, becoming mother and son all in one in a point in the swaps, or creating two brand new people! Becoming more maternal, getting comfortable in a new body! Get the authority of the person who raised you or becomes the person you are raising, be young again, or discover a friendship of several decades in a single second, a friendship lasting longer than your own life.

Memswap tricks you in its slice-of-life context but in reality, it is the wildest of stories so far in TF! Not even lewd focused, but still, one of the horniest routes that have ever been written! It is tense, it is horny, it is technical, it is intense, be prepared because Memswap will leave you out of breath! This is why Memswap is the best Student Transfer route so far.

I'm really hyped to see its end in v6 where we will see the conclusion and consequences to all these insane swaps, and I will also be waiting patiently for Yui Memswap which seems is going to top Memswap! I totally recommend this route to anybody into Mental Changes and Personality Shifts, as well Memory Transfer and Role Reversal.

The K-Files by bricks

So far scenarios have tried to show us what would happen if Kiyoshi got the remote (Kiyoshi's Gaiden) and what if Katrina would have gotten the remote (Greener Grasses), it was fair that Kyoko's turn to have the baton now.

Once Kyoko gets the remote and shows it to her friends, Kiyoshi recommends using it to solve mysteries and the scenario turns into a Scooby-Doo episode. Basically, Michelle asks about a weird thing that happened to her in the storeroom of the school, so Kiyoshi and Kyoko go and start to find out, Katrina and Claus later join in the fun.

Overall I thought the story was okay, I was thinking they would use the memory copy function to solve a mystery but in the end, the remote isn't used this way, there isn't too much comedy and the scenario gives a bigger Slice-of-Life vibe. Kiyoshi gets gender-bent, some small, some cute mind control follows, and the case ends up solved in a wacky and nonsensical way (it seems you can't mind control ghosts but you can exorcise them wiping away their memories) and after some funny but fake advancements for future episodes, the scenario ends.

The scenario is overall complete, with around 40 minutes of gameplay. While the story isn't really TF-focused, it might be disappointing for some, I find it non-essential in the very end but I can say that you can still give it a shot if you want some cute, inoffensive fun. It's not great, but it's good.

Reality Twist by Kromar

Back to the usual quality standard of v2 scenarios. Basically, John, who is less empathetic and now resembles Calvin more, decides to test the remote and mind control of one of his teachers, he later possesses her and takes her body for a ride.

In the morning he realizes he has memories of her own life and his body has disappeared, thinking he might have used the reality alteration button of the remote by mistake, John tries to decide if he should live now as her or try to go back and get his life back in some way.

I thought the reality change function was cool, but the scenario lasts only 10 minutes and doesn't go anywhere after that, and since John is depicted as a minor, it has been removed only due to depicting minors in sexual situations. You aren't really missing anything though, the only thing I think was worth checking is the reality change rules, which I will post a screenshot of below.

Carried Away by tossaway

Fan cover made by Clavietika

Due to her lack of understanding of social clues and obsessive nature, Carrie becomes a good candidate for a Power Trip scenario, being a female counterpart for Kiyoshi in that matter; but aside from letting her go batshit insane, Carrie also carries (heh) the potential for a lot of character growth, and that is what this scenario focuses on.

After deciding to take a shortcut unlike in the main game John goes to the park and finds Carrie waiting for him, and John, therefore the player, will have to choose a way to deal with her.

The options are quite organic and logical, you can either erase her memories of the encountering and send her home, erase her memories, send her home and remove her obsession, or you can either try to make up a story or even then tell her the truth about the remote.

If you decide to mind control her you can finish the whole issue (and therefore the scenario) quickly, cut or burn the knot, without any consequences, which felt quite nice, being able to let the player choose the right choice, and let the story end even before it begins even if the player wants to, it makes you feel as you can actually choose what make to happen.

If you decide to tell her the truth, John will also end up sharing his memories about her, making her realize her own creepiness, after a breakdown, Carrie invites John to her home after school, and John has to discuss with his friends what should he do about the situation, unfortunately, the scenario ends in a placeholder there.

The longest route and probably the one people will pay more attention to is the one where you try to make up a story, which ends up in an accidental body swap. After this, Carried ends up taking over and with some commands, she puts John in the verge of identity death, even then when not quite, John has no memories but he knows who he really is, which makes up for quite a chunk of interesting internal dialogue where John is trying to keep his identity intact and not to let himself go to the programming.

It is interesting seeing him pull and push with his own brain as he has to act as Carrie and discovers more about her life and background and the reason she is that way, all this is pretty short and happens in the span of a single day, but it is pretty great too see.

At the end of the day in this route, John might or might not decide to try with Carrie again and convince her to turn back, and if the right answers to her questioning are given, it can result in John finally fixing up his relationship with her or even stay back in a limbo of uncertainness.

Overall the scenario has no more than 30 minutes of gameplay and most of its paths end in a placeholder but I still think it is worth checking out if you are interested in Carrie and give yourself some ideas about how to make her grow as a person, this is the starting seed to make her a great, fully-fledged character.

Yui's Intervention by Alternate

A Pre-Monitor scenario showing what would happen if John had tried to use the remote with Yui on the third day of the canon. In this scenario, John either tries to get the remote back from her by force to end up swapping with her, or John showing the remote to Yui like in Monitor but this time with Kiyoshi.

If you try to snatch the remote from Yui the scenario goes into body swap either both trying to find a way to swap back and hoping the remote is not totally broken or either wait to figure something out, even then, it ends just as it starts.

If you explain to Yui about the remote, she will swap John's sex for a moment telling him that since he prefers to be a guy, he should experience how to be a girl for a moment all before Kiyoshi tells her that she should experience changing sex as well if she is going to do so with John, Yui enters in reason and the player is given the option to invite Yui to go with John's friends.

The feeling of the scenario is relatively similar to the main game, a bit slice-of-life-ish and not too dark, it could have been an enjoyable scenario and maybe it was going to play similarly as in Monitor with John getting along more with Yui. The scenario gives the player a lot of options to try with but all of them end with Path Under Construction. Path Under Construction, Path Under Construction, Path Under Construction...

There are just so many scenarios that want to start something and create a setup for a story but simply just end as they start, path under construction, I just feel like a soul lost in a limbo of unfinished stores and I don't know what to do anymore.

Kwumpus Hunt by MechMage

Fan cover made by Clavietika

Absurd, surreal, and goofy. Based on a text adventure game from the 70s, Kwumpus Hunt offers a fantastic comedy wrapped up in puzzle-like gameplay that any Student Transfer fan should check at least once if they want to try out something different and refreshing.

The plot centers around Mel and her quest for the Kwumpus, an evil entity that has taken over the school changing everything and everybody to his liking. With the help of her friend and guide Flavia, Mel will have to find out what is happening and strike in the right moment to free the school of its perdition.

The gameplay is nonlinear and even randomized. Now, before you flip up about randomizer use, I have to say that this is randomizer use done right. There are several characters that appear in different rooms every time, the location of the villain is also randomized so you will never know where to actually attack. The rooms without characters offer to the player the possibility to watch pieces of the past to collect clues about the evil Kwumpus to make sense out of the situation.

The rooms with characters will not let you get any clues from that room, so, to get all clues, you will need to replay the scenario several times; even then, the scenario lets you get the right ending with a single playthrough. Replaying the game is very enjoyable anyway thanks to the 7 different endings you can get in total (9 countings some small variations according to Mech, but I didn't see them anywhere, to be honest).

Each room gives you a limited selection of other rooms to go to, if you find end up walking to a room with the wrong character, you will get a bad ending; you have to learn how to go through the right combination of rooms to navigate through the school without being found by the villain or one of the mind-controlled people before time.

One thing I found a bit annoying is that the rooms do not follow a certain pattern, naturally. Being in the stairway doesn't give you the option to go to the roof, and being on the gate doesn't necessarily let you go to the courtyard, you have to go through several rooms until you find one that lets you access the room you are looking for. While some people might find this a small inconvenience that could increase gameplay without adding any actual content, I found it to be just a small nitpick in the otherwise interesting random mechanics of the game. Because yes, that's right, this is not just a visual novel, this is an actual puzzle game where you have to press the right buttons at the right time.

A lot of the TF events like gender-bending, possession, and twinning are used either just in small amounts or are relegated for comedic gags, so overall I would classify this as a Mind Control focused scenario since it is after all the main threat destroying the school.

While I would not recommend it to people who want a thought through serious TF narrative or to lewd and sex-oriented TF fans, I think Kwumpus Hunt is a great choice for anybody who is looking for come comedy-oriented TF content. It is not just very interactive but also very funny and one of its kind.

Help Me Be Happy by JeffCharFlame

Curiously enough, it seems there have been more transgender-focused narratives in Student Transfer over the years, and Help Me Be Happy is one of them, does it succeed? Well, yes and no.

Using ST characters and backgrounds (since this was done in the era where no custom assets could be added), the scenario presents us a set of all brand new original characters: Jeff and his friends James, Tessa, and Jadon, as well his family and classmates.

We get a lot of information and exposition with every character and then, the remote is introduced to us by Tessa, who found it on her home's door. The characters believe her right away and a swap between Tessa and Jeff is done for the day.

What follows next is a casual story of friends that want to have fun with the remote swapping and switching their sexes. In one of the routes, Jeff tells Tessa that he wants to stay as her, following a placeholder.

In the longest route, Jeff confesses wanting to stay as a girl, which his (her) friends accept right away, Jeff switches as a girl but at the mall, he decides to switch back for a moment as a man. At that moment, he meets a girl and takes her to his room to talk more with her.

Based on what I can see, and one of the sentences Jeff says as a guy "Would you rather be in love with a girl or stay as a girl?" Since he knows that switching back and forth will just damage the remote, unfortunately, the scenario ends there and has been abandoned. What we see now is just characters doing things, with no actual plot whatsoever.

What the scenario has to offer at the moment has very low stakes, the characters act way too casually and calmly, always supporting and agreeing with each other, even when Jeff and Tess were a couple before, they still hang out as friends, and even James who knows this does not seem to care, even when swapping bodies between each other.

Jeff, or Jess, mentioned that the characters were being too nice to her, which is when she realized she had given them a mental command without realizing when she was about to sleep, the characters get out of their apparent trance but still act relatively the same way towards Jeff, with no drama and a lot of comprehension.

Is it a recommendable trans story? Well, even when the character of Jeff/Jess is acceptable as a trans portrayal, very little of the social worries about being transgender are given to the audience to identify with, her parents are gone for the weekend, so they don't have anything to worry about, aside from some indecision from Jeff, we don't see too much about the mental issues he goes through, and the story doesn't do anything with the transgender element aside from the initial confession from Jeff. Even then, I think it makes for a cute and wholesome time.

If you want some slice of life story without too much conflict, I would say you can give this a shot, but even then you have to take into account that has no more than around 1 hour of content and it doesn't seem is going to get an update ever again.

Twisted Minds by Bladecutter

Twisted Minds is another 20-minute scenario that opens several paths for TF stories but that ends too soon before any of them can really develop.

In summary, Riley (named now Michael) gets a smartphone-like device from a being proclaiming to be an alien (Circe) laughing at him once he leaves due to his own ingenuity. After trying it once that night, Michael takes it with him to school and while trying to enter the chooses several paths to the class covered with bullies.

In the main entrance, there is Sarah (Sayaka), in the fields, there is Tony (Eric), in the garden, there is Valerie (Tori), depending on the actions of the user Michael can get to where his friend Kate (Katrina) is and show her the device. Choosing the wrong option will make each one of the bullies take control over the device, all of them go crazy in their own routes.

Since the Kate route starts with a placeholder, the only thing this scenario has to offer are the small routes where the bullies make Riley suffer in different ways. I would recommend it for fans of masochism, but please also take into account that the scenario has a bit of loose logic (even when not to the point of Harem) and some people will dislike the name changes as well.

Twisted Lives by ZeBeste

Fan cover made by me

Perhaps one of the most curious scenarios for v2. While most early scenarios had fast, unfinished dialogues trying to get into the account as fast as possible, Twisted Lives has exaggeratedly elaborate prose that edges with parody and comedy.

Apparently, Zebeste, the writer of the scenario, hadn't written any sort of fictional story in well over a decade, and that ended up in verbiage that doesn't necessarily add up to the story and even slow down the pace by a whole lot. All characters have the same voice and cadence, and all of them deep down into introspection, explaining every single feeling they do have onscreen.

Now, while this makes the scenario sound bad, I found it actually pretty enjoyable and even superb, the way things unfold and the way the sequences are ordered makes up for great mystery and intrigue since the reader has to puzzle together the order things happen to make sense out of the story, and aside from the cadence issue, the verbiage adds up to the surreal atmosphere the scenario has, even when everybody has the same voice the scenario has no more than 4 characters in total, and just seeing all these characters talk so deeply is refreshing for old v2 scenarios.

Now, what is the story about? I don't really want to say too much about it this time since I think you should check it and experience it yourself, trust me, it is quite curious. What I will say is that apparently John and Katrina have certain subconscious wishes deep inside them and the way these wishes are granted is... bizarre, to say the least, more spoilers on the tags of the scenario.

The scenario is around 20 minutes long-only and it is currently abandoned, I asked Zebeste, he didn't have too much planned aside from what it is shown here, but even then for what it has now, it's worth checking out.

Greener Grasses by Shanghai cola

"What if?" ideas about what would happen if someone else would have gotten the book or remote have been around since the beginning of the community, being the main premise of several scenarios already. This time, is the turn for one of John's friends, Katrina, to take the lead.

In this scenario, Katrina is planted as a girl insecure about her lack of feminine attributes, like a small butt, strong legs, and a taste for videogames and fantasy. While some people might consider that changing's Kat tomboyish nature is just a cover she has to hide her insecurities too different from her canon character, I believe the story works to give her enough conflict to deal with on the scenario.

Once a transfer student, Allison, arrives, Katrina gets jealous of her womanly attributes and nature and after a while, she tries to convince her to body swap with her.

The other hooks this scenario has a placeholder for are a possible Leona swap, a route with her little sister Jess, and a route where Scarlett, who is portrayed as a sexist coffee addict and a douche bag to her sister, takes over the remote due to Kat's own fault.

Why does Katrina go to get the remote with Kiyoshi? In this timeline, she didn't have a D&D to go to that day and is John uses the excuse to leave, Kyoko leaves just as in the main game, making Kiyoshi tell Katrina to come with her and leaving before she can react.

Again, the scenario, as a lot of others, is abandoned just as the story starts. Overall there isn't any story to enjoy but I am sure some people will like this alternative depiction of Katrina, still a bit sassy, and irreverent, and even pretty impulsive and irresponsible, but with an insecure, girly heart on the inside. Play time, around 15 minutes.

The Tale of the Loser by Knightmare49

With a playtime of around 15 minutes, The Tale of the Loser offers a story similar in style to Harem where the player can swap and possess different people with no consequences in a sort of fetishistic wish-fulfillment without limits.

The small routes that this scenario shows have:

1. Dominic becoming a famous actress, Gwen, after copying her body from a show on the TV screen. Gwen coincidentally arrives at his house at that same time and sees Dominic morphed as her.

2. Dominic stealing Connie's life and make her continue his life as Dominic in his old body

3. Dominic swapping with Flavia, Allison, and Cassie, each one in different routes.

Overall, most characters act like normal human beings unlike in the dream world Harem shows, Dominic swaps with all kinds of people without taking care of their feelings, just like Kiyoshi, but he shows a little remorse for his actions that are completely taken care of by his own desires.

An interesting thing to note about this scenario is that it seems to point about Abbyswap route or a route related to Abby, some characters talk about an incident in school, making everybody taking the day off, apparently, Abby and John got in some sort of trouble that is never explicitly mentioned.

The narrator also talks directly to Dominic in several parts of the scenario, including the beginning where he apologizes to him for giving him such a bad story because he lost 900 lines of coding while working on the story, recommending also to other scenario authors to make backups.

The scenario is overall pretty short and already discontinued, aside from the Abby and John plotline, it is mostly focused on the sexual appeal of these stories for the reader, if you can get off in less than 15 minutes, well, check it out, I guess.

Gold Troubles by Xablerot

Described as a teaser to practice with RenPy at its time of publication, Gold Troubles gives us a scene where John shows the remote device to Brad, getting it stolen by Kiyoshi after he accidentally crashes into him.

The remote gender swaps Brad when it falls, and John and Brad have to retrieve it from Kiyoshi who has taken it and escaped to examine it. The dialogues and interactions have not been worked completely, but the idea of having to retrieve a powerful device does sound actually quite fun.

The scenario lasts 5 minutes and has not been updated ever since.

Cafe Chaos by Supertails

When John is wakened up by Katrina in a rush, he is taken to a Coffee Shop where Casey, presumably one of John's friends is having a breakdown, Katrina uses the remote to swap John's body with her and take her place while she recovers so John can take part of an event.

The scenario gives around 20 small choices that can go from John telling Michelle the truth about the swap, John accepting less or more memories from Casey to be able to go through the job, and change John's level acceptations about Katrina actions.

Little to no background is given about the rest of the characters or the situation, but it is assumed but this is placed somewhere around KatSwap where both Katrina and John have possession of the remote.

No placeholders are added to any of the routes (or decision flairs), ending up instead in a message saying "End of Current Content" before going to the main screen, implying that the author might have not had further intentions to update the scenario.

In general, all the story does is proposing the idea of John swapping with a cute, maid cafe cat girl, even when swaps have been done in the main game for more casual and less important reasons, the setup the author offers doesn't go anywhere before the scenario ends to let us see the advantages of it properly.

With a duration of 15 minutes and no further development, this scenario does not add too much to the Student Transfer catalog.

Alien Jess by SaionjiH

Just like Natswap in the main canon route, Alien Jess proposes the idea of losing control and identity as an adult, but it doesn't move past showing the single idea.

John goes to Kat's house to tell her about the remote and find Jess instead, to test the remote he decided to clone himself on her, and due to her protests when seeing herself morphed, John mind controls her so she feels comfortable in his body and gets his own mental abilities.

When Katrina arrives, John tells the truth, but in a turn of events, Jess decides to lie and make John take her place because due to her programming she doesn't feel comfortable as a kid anymore, she also uses the remote to don't let him use the remote to swap back if he ever manages to get it back or say anything about who he really is to anybody, still, Jess lets him conserve his identity.

In summary, the scenario is too brief, inconsistent, and illogical to be considered worth checking, the idea of John experiment on a child is also something out of character him, but some might prefer this take in the accidental adult to kid swap in contrast to the feeble idea present of Natswap where John swaps with Natsumi only to let her play video games, which has been considered a dumb move on him by some part of the community.

Harem by AmneLeGrand3

In the story of the Student Transfer community, Harem has become one of the most well-known scenarios although the reasons why are rather unfortunate, and Harem has become for a lot of people to what not to do with a scenario.

The story follows Kiyoshi in a rampage of actions that in the end do not make too much sense and confuse the reader. The scenario is written as if no second thoughts were given about each plot element, the concept is so primitive that most people will be able to identify with it due to its dream-like logic throughout the whole story.

What makes Harem bad for a lot of readers is how things are developed, Kiyoshi ends up mind controlling every person he encounters without giving anybody the opportunity to react so he can create his own "Harem" dream, including his relatives like his Sister and Mom. No empathy is given to anybody without any feelings of remorse or thoughtfulness to the people who are mind-controlled. For those fans of TF that like to explore the psychological and social aspects of TF, this makes the scenario null in worth since it does not do any work to explore any of these aspects and goes straight into some sort of wish-fulfillment fantasy that end ups being boring for most people since everything ends up being "perfect" for the protagonist, and asks more suspension of disbelief that any story is allowed to ask for.

The protagonist does not suffer any consequences (in almost all of the routes), nobody can't react to his new powers for too long, since everybody ends up being mind-controlled, the protagonist is happy, the people are happy, but underneath we have a psychopathic-like character that has no limits and a cast disposed of their own identity and opinions, giving the scene a very dark and "macabre" feeling.

The sexual scenes are mostly lackluster as well since they consist mostly of the time in repetitive blowjobs with not too much describing of the situation. Even then, the scenario has gained a certain cult following due to its ironic appeal, the scenario is so erratic that can it even be considered funny for some, it is absurd and surreal in an unintentional way, comedic in the same way The Room is; there are also people who are able to ignore all of these issues if they do not take the scenario seriously either, going straight to the point merely to jack off.
